When the two Jersey boys protest their innocence as American citizens with rights, Fox tells them: "Where you guys are going, they have never even heard of rights." In less than an hour following their incarceration, Harold and Kumar, dressed in orange jumpsuits, faced with a Big Bob's cockmeat sandwich, escape from Guantanamo Bay, hopping aboard a raft with Cubans fleeing Castro's communist regime. In South Florida they find their buddy Raza Seyd hosting a bottomless party (featuring women naked from the waist down and the hip-hop song "My Dick").Harold has moved on with his life, married Maria (Paula Garces) and they’re trying to have a family, although he’s terrified of her father, Carlos (Danny Trejo), who has a very good/racist reason for not liking his son-in-law.Kumar has remained a die-hard stoner, and he’s fallen into a rut after getting dumped by Vanessa (Danneel Ackles).I almost never want to see a 3D movie for a second time and I can’t wait to see this film again. The new “Harold & Kumar” comedy picks up six years after the duo’s last adventure. And by that metric, the new movie is a smashing success.
Since Kumar’s purpose is to bring chaos into Harold’s life, mainly through weed-based shenanigans, they end up accidentally burning down Carlos’ beloved Christmas tree, and they have to hunt down a new one before Maria, Carlos, and their extended family return home from midnight mass. Harold has to grow a spine, Kumar has to grow-up, and their friendship needs to be reaffirmed.
With his in-laws out of the house for less than a day, Harold decides to cover his tracks rather than come clean, and reluctantly embarks on another ill-advised but hilarious journey with Kumar, taking them through New York City on Christmas Eve in search of the perfect Christmas tree.
The film has an outstanding cast that includes returning characters Paula Garcés, Danneel Harris, Bobby Lee, and Eddie Kaye Thomas as well as new faces Patton Oswalt, Thomas Lennon, Danny Trejo, Amir Blumenfeld, David Burtka, Fred Melamed, and Richard Riehle.
After years of growing apart, Harold Lee (John Cho) and Kumar Patel (Kal Penn) have replaced each other with new best friends and are preparing for their respective Christmas celebrations.
But when a mysterious package arrives at Kumar’s door, his attempt to deliver it to Harold’s house ends with him inadvertently burning down Harold’s father-in-law’s prize Christmas tree.
